ESP Module - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When I’m doing EPCO or EPCO-advanced can I do another language competence course?
    No, because students are entitled to only one language competence course per semester, except if there are open places in the "Nachmeldefrist".

  2. Can I do EPCO and EPCO-advanced at the same time?
    No, because students are entitled to only one language competence course per semester, except if there are open places in the "Nachmeldefrist".

  3. Can I do two of the ESP Module courses at the same time?
    Yes, you can do:
    a)  EPCO AND Approaching ESP Texts
    b)  Approaching ESP Texts AND ESP Methodology
    c)  ESP Methodology AND EPCO-advanced

  4. What are the prerequisites for ESP Methodology?
    For student teachers (Lehramtsstudierende): 601, 602, and 621.
    For "Diplomstudierende": 601, 602.

  5. Can Diplomstudierende do the ESP Module?
    Yes! But see question 4 for prerequisites.

  6. How do I get my CerTESP?
    Once you have done the four courses that make up the ESP Module, contact Mag. Monika Wittmann.

  7. What does the CerTESP entitle me to?
    It shows a future employer that you have additional qualifications for teaching ESP. It is of course NOT a full teacher qualification (Lehramtsstudium)!
