3. In memory of Professor Robert de Beaugrande, who was Professor of Linguistics at the Department from 1991 to 1997. 
4. The annual reports present a survey of the departments academic achievements and publications, conferences and other activities, as well as facts and figures about our staff and students, and lists all the courses taught over one academic year.
