Dr. Roland PETERSTORFER

Roland Peterstorfer read German philology and English literature and linguistics at Paris Lodron University in Salzburg where he graduated with a PhD in the field of English as a Second Language in 1993. He began his teaching career as a free-lance English instructor in Salzburg and then moved to Vienna, teaching English for Specific Purposes and German as a Foreign Language (DaF). From 1995 to 2003 he held the position of German language coordinator at Queen Mary, University of London (http://www.sllf.qmul.ac.uk/german/), teaching German at all levels and contributing to the teaching of an MA in the Department of Linguistics. After accepting the post of Lecturer in English and Head of Department at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (http://www.fhv.at/), he moved back to Austria in 2003. He now develops and teaches ESP courses for students of software and information engineering and students of mechatronics, but is also in charge of the university’s foreign language programme as well as the German classes offered to the school’s international students.
