This double volumed special issue of Short Fiction in Theory and Practice, offers ten analyses, inspired by concepts developed in the context of Sound Studies, of Anglophone short stories that foreground the aural, the auditive and the sonic. In an interview, Joanna Walsh reflects on the role sound plays for her creative process of writing short fiction.
