Hosted by the Department of English and American Studies, inter-university cluster project Post-Covid-19 Care
Sponsored by Campus Aktuell
This "round table" offers a multi-faceted perspective on Long COVID. Experts from various fields and patients are invited to share their experiences with Long COVID and to participate in the discussion with experts. The discussion will address topics such as the experience of the disease, the current state of medical research, the existing and still needed treatment pathways, as well as the social and cultural perspectives of the illness.
The aim of this event is to create space for the testimonials of those affected and provide an opportunity for people with similar experiences to hear from other 'Long Haulers'. It also aims to share and exchange information about possible treatment options as a resource for those affected. Likewise, by discussing available treatment pathways, it is hoped to create greater awareness of potential barriers to accessing them and resources that may still be lacking.
The roundtable discussion is part of the inter-university cluster project "Post-Covid-19 Care" between the University of Vienna (UW) and the Medical University of Vienna (MUW). Participating researchers:
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Monika Pietrzak-Franger (PI) / Medical Humanities & Cultural Studies UW
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Susanne Mayer (PI) / Health Economics MUW
Dr. scient. med. Agata Łaszewska (PI) / Health Economics MUW
