From 30th January to 1st February 2020, the University of Vienna was host to an international symposium on Nineteenth-Century Transmedia Practices. Considering the novel theme of the conference, it seems hardly surprising that the call for papers was answered by a great variety of exciting research projects, ranging from the transmediality of tattoos to the invention of the electrophone.
