The Eye Tracking Event “Follow the Gaze”, organized by the MediaLab at the University of Vienna, brought together researchers and students to explore recent developments in eye-tracking technologies and their applications in the study of attention, perception, and emotion.
Dr. Oleksandra Romaniuk participated in the event as a speaker and roundtable contributor, highlighting the interdisciplinary relevance of eye-tracking methods for research on visual attention and mediated communication. The program included hands-on workshops, expert presentations, and an interactive roundtable discussion that fostered exchange between scholars from diverse fields.
Adriana Barrientos, student assistant for the FWF-funded project “Love on Screen: Digital Humanities Analysis of Mate Selection Criteria” (FWF project number 424002), attended the introductory workshop “Follow the Gaze.” During the workshop, participants were introduced to various eye-tracking methodologies and gained practical experience with Tobii glasses and analytic software provided by the MediaLab.
