Advanced Speaking Skills for English Teachers

ASSET focuses on oral production, interaction, and mediation skills for teachers of English. You will learn about the characteristic features of spoken language, including classroom discourse, and develop speaking skills relevant to the educational domain, such as explaining concepts, giving instructions, checking understanding, moderating discussions, facilitating collaboration, and evaluating contributions. You will also learn to make effective use of body language, intonation, voice, turn-taking devices, and lexico-grammatical means to interact successfully in educational contexts.
