Integrated Language and Study Skills

In ILSS, your first English language competence module at this department, you will make the transition from school to university by honing your language skills and developing study strategies relevant in an academic setting. In particular, you will produce cohesive and coherent argumentative essays, process a wide range of complex texts, extend your vocabulary and increase your awareness of context-sensitive language use. ILSS will help you to redefine your voice in your new learning environment, where precision, logic and flexibility are key. At the Common Final Test (CFT), a standardised test at the end of ILSS2, you can prove you have achieved the necessary competences to engage in a dialogue with the academic community.

Optimize your reading, writing and study strategies to achieve new goals.
