30.05.2025

On 6 June 2025, Usree Bhattacharya (University of Georgia, USA) will hold a guest lecture at our department. The CELTER team cordially invites students, colleagues and interested individuals to join.

Usree Bhattacharya's guest lecture titled "Disrupting Digital Ableism: Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis of AI Representations" explores how language models like ChatGPT and Co-Pilot shape representations of Rett Syndrome through visual and textual modalities. Drawing on research from the Rett Lab@UGA, this talk applies multimodal critical discourse analysis to uncover how AI-generated content reproduces deficit-based narratives and marginalizes voices of disability.
